Pitbull-Terje Runs Amok

Eriksen, Endre Lund: Pitbull-Terje går amok

This is a brisk, funny, engaging and rather touching story about a somewhat strange friendship. We are introduced to Jim, and his two friends Kurt and Roger. Jim's mother suffers from anxiety, but it's alright because they can joke about it. Sometime's it all gets a little overwhelming for Jim though, and he retreats to his secret bunker. One day a new boy joins their class, a surly sort of lad who calls himself Pitbull-Terje. He decides that he and Jim are going to be best friends: "If not, I'll beat you up," he says menacingly.

The book is amusingly illustrated by Ella K. Okstad

Praise for Pitbull-Terje Runs Amok:

" a first book that truly commands respect."
(Dagbladet)

"Endre Lund Eriksen has clearly set out to persuade boys to curl up with a book. Not only has he chosen a subject drawn from the rough-and-tumble life of boys today, he also writes in a spare, straightforward manner that underscores the gritty realism of the story: short chapters, short sentences, and no frills in the shape of sunsets or fanciful flights of imagination."
