Bjørn Sortland's novel Moment of Honesty is nominated to the most prestigious German literary award for young adults fiction, Deutsche Jugendliteraturpreis. The book is published by Hanser Verlag in Germany. Sortland won the same prize in 1996 for the book "Red, Blue and a little bit of Yellow". Jostein Gaarder received the same prize in 1994 for "Sophie’s World".
Per Petterson’s critically acclaimed novel Out Stealing Horses is nominated to the 2007 Los Angeles Times Book Prizes. Petterson is one of five finalists for the prestigious prize which will be awarded Friday April 25, 2008.
Carl Frode Tiller, who was awarded the prestigious Brage Prize for Best Norwegian Novel 2007 for his book Entanglement, is now nominated to the 2008 Nordic Council's Literary Prize. This is the author's third book, and foreign rights have so far been sold to Denmark (Athene) and France (Stock).
