Erkki Murole

Davidsen, Trond: Erkki Murole

The Finn Erkki Murole is the narrator and main character in this novel. He travels by train and boat from Stockholm to Molde, via Oslo, Bergen and Ålesund, to visit his brother Tauno, who he has not seen in 20 years.

Praise for Erkki Murole:

“A book which lets the reader all the way into Erkki and his fearful and doubting life. A bachelor’s life described with merciless empathy in a prose so thought through and consistent that I, at least, accept Erkki. This is how he is, this is how he has to be”
(NRK)

“Erkki Murole is an original novel with resonance of widely different authors like Selby, Camus, Jerofejey and Kelman”
(Dagbladet)

“Davidsen’s odd, anxiety-ridden anti-hero is a mysterious person, but is he fascinating enough to be a voice you can be asked to follow throughout a whole novel? Absolutely”
(Aftenposten)

“Trond Davidsen is about to become a very prominent author. His second novel is at least as raw as Triggerhappy
(Bergensavisen)
