Black
Roll, Gunn M.: SvartA series of mysterious and morbid murders take place. All the victims have been poisoned and had body parts cut off or sewn together in mafia fashion. Police investigator Karl Fredrik Monsen and his team are assigned to the case, and struggle to find the connections between the victims - a criminal with ties to the porn industry, one of his business associates and a French businessman.
Meanwhile Monsen's daughter, a recently educated nurse, is watching over a comatose patient whose father refuses her blood transfusion, as they both are Jehova's Witnesses. The investigation staggers to a complete halt, before new developments suddenly blows everything wide open, leading the story to its powerful conclusion.
An impressive debut, BLACK is a suspenseful thriller written in an effective, cinematic style that suits the story perfectly.
Praise for BLACK:
“Gunn M. Roll does a lot of thing correctly in her debut novel … BLACK is mostly very suspenseful, and [Karl Fredrik Monsen] is eccentricm sympathetic and smart ... I look forward to meeting both Karl Fredrik Monsen and Sigrid Douglas again in another book.”

”A debut a litte above average … as a debut work, BLACK gets a thumbs up – the novel is quite entertaining”
