Super

Eriksen, Endre Lund: Super

Julie is fourteen years old, and she’s already sick of being her. She’s had it with being anxious and alone. This summer she will change. Mum and dad think she’s going away on a summer camp. But Julie has other plans. For a week she will stay home all by herself and do exactly what she wants. Get drunk. Get a tattoo. Drive a car. Get to know somebody. Kiss.

She does get to know somebody. Jomar. When they are together, she dares to do all those things she hadn’t dared before. When she is with Jomar she’s super. But Jomar isn’t who he claims to be. He has secrets. If you found out everything, Jomar says, you will hate me for the rest of your life.

Praise for Super:

"Rough, surprising, and original. Super by Endre Lund Eriksen is a super novel. A simple pun, you may think, but I think I will turn out to be right. (...) Super turns into a real thriller (...) The story is full of drive, pace, and humour, and the dialogues feel natural. (...) To conclude: Yes, Super is a super novel for young adults"

"Sunday evening I started reading Super by Endre Lund Eriksen. I have been reading every night, and today in the breaks during band rehearsal. I have finished the book now and I am totally paralysed. It is one of the best books I have read. Wow”.
(Anna, 15, posted on her blog)

“Endre Lund Eriksen’s new novel for young adults is hard to put down (…) [w]ith his tasteful contemporary language, and his ability to narrate a suspenseful plot, (…) Eriksen is a children’s writer that readers in his home country, Norway, really dig.”
