Ottosen, Kristian

Kristian Ottosen (b.1921) has written seven exceptional books dealing with an aspect of World War II previously little documented: the story of the men and women held captive in Germany and Japan, with particular reference to the Norwegians. Ottosen is well qualified to write on this subject: After doing illegal work for the Norwegian-British intelligencence, he was a Nacht und Nebel ('Night and Fog') prisoner in various camps in Germany, condemned to work himself to death, between 1942 and 1945. His books have brought him numerous awards.
