Øyen, Wenche
Wenche Øyen was born in Bærum in 1946 and now resides in Nesodden outside of Oslo. At the age of 17 she began studies at Statens Håndverks- og Kunstindustriskole (1963-67), and thereafter continued her artistic education at Statens Kunstakademi (1967-71) and at Akademiet for bildende kunst in the Hague in the Netherlands (1970). Since her debut at Young Artists Society in 1972, she has had a number of exhibits. She has received national and international awards for her many book illustrations. Øyen is represented in the National Gallery, Riksgalleriet and Norsk Kulturråd, and in a number of other public and private collections.
